Role reversal

a television show, which is in its second season. mostly liked by the people for passing on voices of suppressed and neglected once. mostly by society, police and system. generally this is the job of  MEDIA. now we have different form, most popular and incompetent in its role is electronic media. which has started competing with entertainment channels, with all masaledaar debates and express news. this has become serious business of TRP's (television rating points). if anyone has missed any television series, need not to worry. our new entertainment channels will inform you in detail or may be entertain you with some more spiced up Bollywood news. what is any different than passing on information that attracts viewers and appeal to them so much? may be a Bollywood actor- aamir khan.  well certainly he present the show with little emotional touch. a nice song, unheard story and Sunday afternoon is a good time, people are relaxing in their house.

what media does?

media has very serious job to discuss every word comes out of any politician in detail. they sometimes do "badi bahas", "buck stops here". "left right and centre", "centre stage", "prime time" and many more with well groomed anchors, so called panel of "Ex-perts". many of their expert talk crap in most of the time overlapping each other, screaming. many of these anchors cant stop them and so often they use commercial break as weapon . all day one can see programs like Bollywood masala, or time bound news such as " 100 minute 100 news, 24 grantee 24 reporters,". sports  news are fully dedicated to cricket. this devotion is so much so that most of the people get confused by the other sports thinking, does India play any other sport. in my view media is doing everything than reporting.

lets dig little deep. according to statistics, over 1 lakh rape cases has been registered last year in the country. did media covered even 10% of that with more than a regular 5 second reporting. weren't these the work of media, these should have been topic of discussion. they should have done debates with the concerned officer in-charge of area on the progress of case, or what are the measures they are taking to make sure nothing of that happen again rather doing tu-tu mai -mai with cheap leaders.  a few rape cases found a lot of media attention because they got the public support. those cases could have gone same as others, if public were not on street .

money angle:-

some criticize just because a Bollywood actor chose to add some social angle in his entertainment side. people had not had any problem, if same actor would have done some entertainment show by taking probably more money than now. is it wrong if he can help raising the voice of suppressed and oppressed of society? he has social responsibility too. he is helping many NGO's to grow and raise fund for their good work. what is wrong if he is making money. if he can help in changing the mentality of society towards many of the issues that is alarming for system. that is acceptable, on the cost of he making crores. he could have made that money anyway by any game show or other reality show. so critics do criticize, but better use some real argument. jealousy leads to self destruction. keep in mind.

i would suggest critics to do some self introspection and try to help media do some real reporting job instead becoming entertainment channels.

the fourth pillar

media: a political party, a business house, an entertainment show, a propagandist

media is plural for medium. it is a medium of communication between government and the last living person in the society. it was called as "the fourth pillar" of our democracy. which shares great responsibility with other three pillars. lately it has become a business proposition, even an entertainment show. real news are read in a "duronto" manner, with no stoppage. one can see the shows like "24 ghante 24 reporter" or "100 seconds 100 news" etc.

was media always same? no, after the revolution of television in India. it has changed dramatically. in the race of television rating point (TRP) or to break the news first, they started inventing news instead of reporting. reporters are merely doing politicians press conferences than reporting the problems in rural India. news has also become an elite thing, there is hardly any media house, which is reporting rural problems.

big debates: prime time :-

this is evening, when the big guns of media houses sits with their "experts" to discuss mostly the politicians one liners or mostly these days "Gandhi-modi saga". I still don't understand these so called "experts". although it is quite visible that they are divided (biased) with their choice of party. one can see the regular experts panel, or some special newly appointed once. viewers have left with very little choice than to listen the ranting and raving of "experts".

sting operations: elevator to quick and cheap fame-:
now a days sting operations are one of the cheap tricks from new media houses to come into fame or to carry out for political fame. an year ago gee news and navin jindal cross sting was one of the most controversial one. recently the media house owned by an congress man did controversial sting on aam aadmi party, which proved nothing.

nobody can question media:-

they have got constitutional right to question anybody, that is quite correct. but it doesn't make them unquestionable. they will grab all sort of false stories to claim seconds trp. but if  later somebody ask them to apologise for the false story they run for several day, give it a few seconds of apology.

taking over social media:-

the social media is a revolution in terms of mass communications. it has given individuals same amount of power as journalists. but when journalists have taken over these platforms such as twitter and Facebook. first they claim to have personal view and then discuss the same on their prime time news. how can anybody be so hypocritical about their personality. how can you have personal view mixed with news headlines and then be judgemental?

in this internet shabby generation,  people are wise. they form their opinion only after a conformation of any news. keep your eyes and ears open, and don't form opinion quickly.

a morning thought

                  parenting and governance- an equivalence

parenting is very similar to the governance. it is like the central government, which is being elected for five years to rule the life of its citizens. only difference is that one cannot choose his or her parents. most of Indian children must have had experienced certain traditional values. which defines do'es and don't, as we  have constitutions. but constitution is amendable if parliament want,in the same way if parents thinks some rules can be broken for guests or favorite child,it's OK. but if someone outside of the parliament challenges the some alleged unconstitutional order. then they allege them of being unconstitutional instead debating or talking about it.
parents on one hand want their child to grow up and be decisive. but one often find their parent control over hairstyle, dressing, friend-circle and almost everything. later after marriage control over your wife, which leads to saas-bahu drama in the house. one can relate that with center- state slug fest on many issues, latest being jan-lokpal. power, which is an obsession, most of us enjoy either in politics or in family. this may be one of many reasons why we have still problems in accepting-:
*treating women as equal.
*debating section 377 on LGBT.

can u question the president of our country, or of your family? a straight no. i mean the same person was a union minister a few days ago. if one gets promoted, and reaches to highest post, does that mean, he is always correct? well that is a question open for debate. country is no private limited company, where "BOSS IS ALWAYS RIGHT". here everybody should be open for scrutiny including "RASTRAPATI".  all other PATI'S has to only listen all their life, how can one be exception. even in family one cannot question the oldest some time, even if he is wrong. often in your it becomes matter of "tumse jyyade jindgi dekhi hai inhone"(he has seen more life than you). well obviously, he is one reason of me being in this world, but does that make him always right?  #with all respect to the elders.

*be little patient while reading, just  a thought. which is open for debate or scrutiny. if anybody find any mistake .please comment.
